Magazine DIY: Glitter Eggs

When this issue of Martha Stewart Living came in the mail, I was totally inspired! I loved the bright neon colored eggs, which were so in tune with this spring’s trend. I also liked how the eggs were fun but also had an adult edge to them. I went out and bought some supplies and got to work! Here is the finished product!

Supplies:

Hard-boiled eggs (see our how to), store bought egg coloring kit, clear craft clue, small foam brush, glitter, neon thread

Instructions for glitter eggs:

Step 1:  Color your eggs following the instructions on the box. Let dry completely.

Step 2:  Brush half an egg with craft glue and sprinkle with glitter. Let dry.

Step 3:  Repeat on the other side of the egg.

Instructions for string eggs:

Step 1:  Hold the loose end of a spool of thread against the egg with your finger then wrap the spool around the egg as many times as you wish.

Step 2:  Once you have your desired look, snip the thread from the spool.

Step 3:  Dot clear craft glue over several parts of the tread so it holds in place.
