  1. How do you get the file to print without margins? I want it to take up the whole page with no white edges around it.

    • Try unchecking the page scaling option when you go to print. Adobe sometimes automatically scales the image to fit the page if it thinks the image is too large for the page.

      • The only sizing options I have are: Fit, Actual Size, and Shrink Oversized Pages. You have to select one, but I cant seem to get any of them to work. :(

    • I have tried printing on my MAC and the monogram will not print scrip nor is it centered. Could you you tell me why I might be doing wrong. I have tried 2 different styles. Thank you

      • Jennifer, You need to make sure that you open the file in Adobe Reader instead of a MAC’s default pdf viewer which is called Preview. It won’t work in Preview.

  2. So cute! I love your designs!!!!

  3. I am a college student and I love printing out the monograms for my binders! Yall are amazing!

    • Thank you! I’ve been printing out the monograms on full sheet label paper and putting them on all my sketch books and notebooks :) Such an inexpensive way to customize stuff!

  4. OK I must be an idiot, I can’t get the intials right. They are just printing in block print and not formatted to the center.

    • Hi Angie, Are you using a Mac or a PC? I’ve heard of this happening on people using a Mac because it automatically opens in preview and not Adobe Reader. If you are using a Mac, open it in Adobe Reader.

  5. Hey! I just got a Mac and I was wondering how do I open it in Adobe Reader since it automatically opens in preview. Sorry, I’m still new at this whole using a Mac and getting used to it! Thanks!

    • Hi Shaylin, I totally understand! When I switched from a PC to a Mac there was a learning curve. What you can do is open Adobe Reader then go to file open and find the file and open it.

  6. Thank you so much!! These monogram posters are so great!

  8. Hey I was just wondering if you would make a chevron one those are really cute too!

    • We will be launching more printables in more designs and one of the ones I want to do is similar to this one, but instead of quatrefoil it will be chevron :)

  9. I am having problems printing mine off :( it goes to print but then once to send it as a fax?? Does anyone know why? These are gorgeous and want one for my daugthers room

    • Did you check the printer you are sending it to in the window that pops up once you hit print? Make sure you don’t have your fax machine checked. I can send faxes through my computer and sometimes this happens to me and I have to change it from the fax to my printer.

  10. what type style is this called? I really like it & want to monogram my walls!

  11. Thanks so much Jenny! And thanks for these adorable monograms!

  12. Another Winner! I printed it out and modpodging it to an old table. Instant facelift!

  13. what font is this i have a mac and you have to have a certain font for it to look right (:

    • You don’t need the font in order for this to work. For Macs, the default PDF viewer is called Preview. You need to download and open it in Adobe Reader instead of Preview. This is will fix your issue :)

  14. Hey guys! i have a mac computer. well its not really mine, its my grandpas. he is really stingy about giving me his password and has yet to do so. i cannot download adobe reader without his password therefor i can’t make me a binder cover :( would anyone be interested in making me three of them?? i am so desperate i’ve looked all over the internet for another way to get them but there just isn’t a way. my initials in the monogram form would look like this: sSm and i’d like one in papaya-peach, yellow-aqua, and then maybe one in the chevron with the same initials sSm in like navy or hot pink whichever whoever would be kind enough to make them for me. if someone would, you can email them to me with an attachment and i can print them from there. thanks so much to whoever decides to help me out. my email is: [email protected]

    thanks in advance again. :)
    samantha

    • Hi Samantha, You would still need adobe in order to view the PDF.

  15. Hi! :) These are really cute. I found them through a friend at school. I tried to download it, but Scribd is having problems. I was wondering if you knew when their site will be up and running; so i can download these gorgeous monograms?:D

    • Scribd was down for maintenance earlier, but it’s back up now :)

      • Thank you :D <3 so grateful! I need help changing the initials though. :/ I followed the directions, but I couldn't get it to work!

        • Hi Jade! Click the color you want. A Scribd page will open up. On the right hand side of the page, click the ORANGE “Download or Print” button. Once the PDF opens up, double-click the letters we put in there and delete them. Then type in your own. Hope that helps!

  16. how do you even get to the monagram?! i just clicked on the color i want and nothing happens???

    • Hi Sydney! I’m not sure what’s wrong. All of the colors are clickable links. Maybe try reloading the page?

    • Hey there,
you need to go to the website and you need to make an account and download the pdf

  17. these are great but I cant get my 3 letters to fit… I’m on a mac in adobe… any suggestions?

    • Hi Nicole! Are you typing the left letter in lowercase, middle letter in uppercase, and right letter in lowercase?

  18. Do you have a landscape option for this printable?

  19. I can’t seem to get this to work for me. I have tried doing this and the phone charger wrapper. I have a mac so I downloaded and saved the pdf and opened it in Adobe Reader like you suggested. I highlight the existing monogram to type in my initials and click enter. My issue is that my font doesn’t look like yours. Not sure how to change that or what I am doing wrong. Mine definitely doesn’t look right though. Any suggestions?

    • Hi Julie, make sure you are completely deleting the sample monogram before you type in your own. Don’t hit enter. Basically you just want to triple-click on the existing monogram and then click your “delete” or “backspace” key to get rid of it. Then, type in your monogram using the instructions listed. After you have typed it and it shows up, put your mouse on the center of another color “wrap” and click it. All of the “wraps” will automatically fill in with your initials. Hope this helps!

      • I just thought of one more thing Julie, if you are trying to get the block monogram, you use the symbol for the right hand letter. If you are trying to get the script (cursive) monogram, you just type in all three letters (don’t use the symbol at all for those). Hope that clears things up!

        • Tried all of your suggestions and it just doesn’t seem to work for me :( The font does not change nor wrap.

  20. Just stumbled across your blog via Pinterest and am in love with all of your creations! You are so talented and it’s so kind of you to share so many amazing creations. I will definitely be sharing your site with my readers! Thanks again! xo

    • Thanks Sarah!!! We will check out your blog!!

  21. Thank you so much! I printed the gray and pink one to match my daughter’s room :) Too cute!

  22. I must be missing something. I clickedon the colors I want and scribd opened up but I didn’t see how to make an acct or sign on with facebook. therefore I could not get to the page where I could change the initials. What do I need to do? This is a very cute monogram. My daughter would love it!

    • You need to click on the download or print button in the sidebar on the scribd page. It will then ask you to either create an account or sign in with facebook. You can do either and it will then let you download the monogram.

  23. I wish this was available for Macs!! I cannot download it because it is only compatible with Microsoft :( !

    • Hi Catherine, all of our free printables are compatible with Macs. In fact, they are created on a Mac. Make sure you downloaded Adobe Reader before opening our printables, they will not work in Preview (the default on a Mac). That should solve your problem.

  24. I’m having problems! I’ve opened it in adobe, on my Mac. The font is just a normal font though! What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks!

    • Hi Lauren, did you download Adobe Reader and open the printable with that? Our printables will not work with Preview, which is the default program on a Mac. Double-check and let us know if it still isn’t working.

  25. I LOVE this, is there any way to change the color though? I need it black and turquoise.

  26. This is sooo cute! Although mine keeps printing with a little black and white plus sign in the lower right corner where the monogram is, if I click on the monagram it goes away but as soon as I hit print it shows up again! Any ideas how to get rid of it?

  27. I love this! But I can’t seem to figure out what I’m doing wrong.. I made one and it went great. I tried to make another, and I’m not getting the ‘done signing’ option. Am I doing something wrong this time around? Thanks!

    • Hi Elizabeth, I’m not sure what you mean by the ‘done signing’ option. Can you be a little more specific? There shouldn’t be an option like that. Did you watch the video on our frequently asked questions page?

  28. Hi! Love your website, I made the dress your tech iphone wrap today and it turned out great! What are the dimensions of this image– 8.5×11? Thanks!

  30. I clicked on the color I want, and then it took me to Scribd, I clicked on the orange Download or Print button and nothing happened. My mouse clicks it, and then nothing comes up on the screen. I dont know if this is becuase I have a PC?

    • Hi Kendall, Scribd works with both PCs and Macs. Have you signed up for Scribd yet? I’m not sure why it’s not opening when you click the “download or print” button. Make sure you are a member of Scribd and then try again. I think you can sign in with your facebook as well so you may not have to create another account. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

  31. Hi Kristen, this is a lovely printable. Would you be able to add to the colour option red and aqua versions?

    • The colors offered are the only ones available at this time. We are Jenny and Louisa, not sure who Kristen is!

  32. Everytime I type in the initials it does it exactly as typed in, it wont do the script font and when using the symbol for the last initail on the other templates it shows up like the symbol and not the letter. basically, it looks exactly like I type it in. Any way to fix this?

    • Are you using a Mac? This happens when you are using a Mac and open in Preview. You need to download Adobe Reader and open it in that instead of Preview if you are using a Mac.

  33. What font do you use when creating this?

    • The font is called Vine Monogram

  34. I would love to print the quatrefoil in the teal/pink in a smaller version. Is there anyway to print it to a 2 1/2in wide by 4 1/2 in high? I love all your stuff. Thanks! Michelle

    • Hi Michelle! At this time the quatrefoil printable is only offered in an 8″x10″.

  35. Hi! Can I make a monogram on an iPad?

    • Hi Kayla, That I know of you can’t do this on an iPad because you won’t be able to edit it. Do you have access to a computer that you can edit it on?

  36. This is amazing. I’m so glad I found your site! Thanks for all the free stuff!

  37. Is there a way to save this so I can get it printed as a picture? Instead of using up all my printer ink?

    • Hi Charlsie! No, there’s not! Sorry!

  38. I have a Mac, I’ve downloaded Adobe, I’ve saved the file to my computer and opened Adobe and then opened the monogram file but the monogram still only shows up in block letters which don’t fit in the frame when I print. What am I doing wrong?

    • Hi Jackie! Our documents cannot be saved to your computer. They will not work if you save them. What you should do is re-download the document and be sure it opens in Adobe Reader NOT Mac’s Preview program. Then, customize it with your own initials and print the document. Hope this helps!

  39. These are adorable! I was so dismayed when I tried personalizing them for my daughters’ rooms, as the initials were off-center. I didn’t see anyone else post that same problem (though I may have missed it since there are so many comments!), but I did note that the file opened using a PDF viewer (not Mac’s “Preview” – I am on a PC) but I did not have Adobe Reader installed, so I guess the PDF viewer was the best my computer had to offer. I downloaded Adobe Reader, hoping that would solve the problem, and sure enough – IT DID! If anyone else has had this same problem, I hope this helps you! The printed results are so worth it! Thank you, ladies, for sharing your wonderful creativity with the rest of us!

  40. Can you please make a quatrefoil monogram in Red and Black?

  41. Where do you get those cute white frames you put the monogram sheet in? I really want one of those to put mine in on my desk!

    • Hi Caroline, I think Jenny gets her’s at Ikea and I get mine at Michaels (with a coupon, of course)! You can also find them at West Elm, Walmart, and on the internet.

  42. Hi, I just love these printables I am obsessed with the Chevron Print ones I have them on my binders for school, but I was wondering if it was possible for me to get them as a wallpaper for my iphone?

    • Hi Katie! Yes, it’s possible!

Start with your completed quatrefoil monogram on your computer screen. Next, click the “fit one full page to window” button on your Adobe Reader screen (looks like 4 arrows). If your monogram is highlighted in any way, click the “highlight existing fields” button on the top right of your Adobe Reader screen. Hit the “print screen” button on your keyboard, crop (in any photo editing program), and save the file to your computer. Send file to your phone and save as wallpaper!

      • After i hit print It won’t let me save my monogram when I try to set it as my iphone wallpaper:(

        • Hi Rachel, you won’t be able to save our printable documents through Adobe. If you want to save it, you’ll have to use the print screen button on your keyboard and then paste the image into a photo editing software. From there you can crop and save it. Hope this helps!

  43. I love it! Thanks so much!

  44. Hey! I absolutely LOVE these. I was wondering if you could make an option to do a black and yellow one? My sorority is black and yellow and this would be perfect for a binder cover.. Thanks so much!

  45. I cant find the link to download it!

    • Hi Ashlee, Click on the colors you want under the picture. It will take you to the download.

      • Thank you sooo much :) :)

        • Welcome!

  46. Figured out my font problem with Mac! I had tried typing in Preview before reading the directions. After reading, I opened it in Adobe, but the plain font was still there. Apparently once you type in Preview, that plain font sticks around. I deleted the file I typed in. Then I downloaded it again and opened with Adobe. Perfecto!

Thanks for sharing these beautiful patterns!

  47. I love this monogram design!! They are beautiful.
Is there any way to shrink everything down to make a luggage tag?
    Thanks so much!!

    • Hi Jill, You could take a screen shot and then import it into photo editing software and resize it. We also have smaller chevron ones that we made for phone wallpaper that would probably work. Here is the link – http://forchicsake.com/monogram-phone-wallpaper

  49. hi i really want to print one of these binder covers and i have a mac and i opened it in adobe reader and everything. It’s ready to print but my printer won’t print it but my printer will print other things just not this. Can you help me?

    • Hi Reese, thanks for reading!!!

After you hit print, go to advanced settings and check print as image. This will allow you to print them. For some reason this issue happens for some people and not others. It may be your printer settings. If you print them this way they should print.

  50. I have some problems with downloading/converting them to JPG. They turn our different color. If I print them out they are ok. Any suggestions?

    • Hi Anastasia, In order for me to help you, I need a little more information. Can you describe to me exactly what you are doing? What program are you pasting them into? I’m not sure why the color would be changing. This hasn’t happened to anyone else that I know of.

  51. My font won’t change to the font shown in any of the examples. I watched the video but still can’t seem to figure it out. Do you have any idea what I could be doing wrong?

    • Hi Hayley, thanks for reading!

If you have a Mac, make sure you download Adobe Reader (it’s free) and open the document in that program. If you open the document in Mac’s Preview program, this printable will not work.

If you have a PC, it should automatically open in Reader.

Once you open your document in Adobe Reader, delete the sample monogram by triple-clicking it and hitting the backspace or delete key on your keyboard.

Now, be sure you are entering the letters in this order: lowercase first initial (left-hand letter), uppercase last initial (middle letter), then lowercase middle initial (right-hand letter.)

For example, if I want my monogram to read “LDN” I would type in “lDn”. Once you type in the third letter, all three letters will pop into the middle of the circle.

      Hope this helps!

  52. Do you have a template for the spine that matches this?

    • Hi Brenna, No, we do not.

  53. Do you have this where the back color of monogram is yellow

    • Hi Crystal, This one only comes in double colors. Thanks!

  54. Hi. I was wondering if you could help me figure out the margin issue. I have a mac and it’s not letting me change the margins in adobe and I keep getting the white boarder around the edge of the paper.

    • After you click print, go to Properties and select Borderless Printing. Make sure page scaling is set to none.

    • Hi Lauren, Where did you find the tutorial for the lock screen? I know we did one here – http://forchicsake.com/monogram-phone-wallpaper If you look at our tutorial it doesn’t tell you that you need to sign the form. You shouldn’t have to do this in order to make it work. Check out our tutorial and let me know if you have any questions.

  64. When I try to save the document on PDF, the letters change fount

    • Are you on a Mac? This happens on a Mac when you open the document in Preview which is the default PDF reader on a Mac. You need to open the file in Adobe Reader. This will fix the issue of the letter changing to different font.

  65. Thanks so much for this! My daughter is having her redone (again!) now that’s she’s almost an official teenager, and she LOVED this! It’s going to look great in her new room.

  67. I’m doing this from my phone so I can save it as a picture and it isn’t working. It will only open it in the Scribd app and nothing else. I can’t change the initials or anything. Can someone help?? )):

    • Hi Caitlin, You need to download the Adobe Reader app for your phone. When it takes you to Scribd have it open the file in Adobe Reader. It should work when you do it that way then you can just take a screen shot and set it as your wallpaper.

  71. Hi! I love this so much, are there any monograms for the side of the binder? I’d love one!

    • Hi Katrina, thanks for reading! We don’t have any monograms specifically for the side of a binder yet but that’s a great idea. We’ll keep it in mind for the future!

  74. Hi, I love the monograms, they’re amazing! I made some for my iPhone on my PC and it worked out fine, but every time I try to open it on my MacBook it only shows the monogram in a normal, ugly font. I’ve downloaded Adobe Reader and I’m opening it there, but it’s still not working. Help?

    • Hi Chiara, If you are on a Mac then they are probably opening in the default PDF reader on a Mac called Preview. When opened in Preview the font will appear regular. You need to change your default PDF reader from Preview to Adobe Reader. Then re-download the printable monogram. This will fix your issue.

  75. Is there any way to change the font size so that I can type in subject names instead of my monogram (I don’t have a middle name)?

    • Hi Shreya, thanks for reading! At this time, there is no way to do that.

  76. These monograms are beautiful! I am having trouble when I print them. There are blue lines that run across the paper. I have tried replacing my ink cartridge but that did not help-any ideas?

    • It sounds like it’s your printer’s print head. This happened to anything I printed when the print head needed to be replaced.
